Some Facts of Kemenpora Officials Affected by OT KPK Related to KONI Grants

Jurnal Fakta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a hand-holding operation (OTT) against three officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). OTT is related to the alleged fee for grants from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).

The KPK has arrested Deputy IV, commitment maker (PPK), treasurer, and two staff members. The KPK has also sealed three rooms, namely Deputy IV, Deputy Assistant of Presidential Decree, and staff room.

Following are the facts of Kemenpora officials hit by KPK OTT:


1. Total 9 people arrested


The KPK arrested a total of nine people in OTT at Kemenpora. In addition to Kemenpora officials, there are KONI administrators who were also arrested regarding grants

"There are nine people (who were arrested)," said KPK Public Relations Kabri Febri Diansyah told AFP on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

Kemenpora officials arrested included the Deputy of Kemenpora Mulyana Sports Achievement Improvement. At present, nine people are still in the status of being examined. The KPK itself has 1x24 hours to determine their status.


2. KPK confiscates Rp. 300 million


The KPK confiscated Rp. 300 million from OTT to Kemenpora officials. The money is alleged to be a fee related to the grant budget for KONI.

There is also an ATM card containing hundreds of millions of rupiah that the KPK confiscated. "The KPK cross-checked and found preliminary evidence in the form of money of around Rp. 300 million and an ATM card which also contained hundreds of millions of rupiah," KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo told reporters on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

But Agus cannot yet ascertain whose money and ATM card belongs to him.


3. Allegedly there is a KONI Grant Fund kickback


The KPK conducted a capture operation (OTT) of Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) officials related to grant funds for KONI. The KPK suspects that there was a kickback received by Kemenpora officials from the disbursement of the grant.

"It is suspected that a transaction (kickback) is related to the disbursement of grant funds from Kemenpora to KONI," KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo told reporters on Tuesday (12/18/2018).


4. Kemenpora Respects the Legal Process

Kemenpora will respect the legal process carried out by the KPK regarding OTT. Kemenpora is ready to follow applicable legal procedures.

"We still respect the legal process in force and wait for further information from the KPK, so we cannot suppose about the case until there is an official explanation from the KPK," Sesmenpora Gatot S Dewa Broto said when asked for confirmation.

Gatot said he was sad for the OTT. He claimed to always remind his staff not to violate the applicable regulations in the use of the state budget.

"We at Kemenpora were of course surprised and sad, because I always reminded the entire ranks of Kemenpora not to violate the applicable regulations in the use of the National Budget," Gatot said.


5. 29th OTT KPK

The KPK conducts arrest operations (OTT) against Kemenpora officials. This is OTT which is the 29th time the KPK has carried out during 2018.

In this OTT, the KPK secured 9 people including the Deputy of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mulyana's Sports Achievement Improvement. There are also KONI officials who are secured.

"Right, tonight there is a team from KPK Enforcement assigned in Jakarta. After we get information there will be a money receipt transaction by the State Administration in Kemenpora," KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo told reporters on Tuesday (12/18/2018).

There are Rp. 300 million in cash and an ATM containing hundreds of millions of rupiah which was confiscated in OTT this time. Allegedly there is a kickback for the disbursement of grant funds to KONI.

"It is suspected that a transaction (kickback) occurred related to the disbursement of grant funds from Kemenpora to KONI," he said.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Checks Intensive Kemenpora-KONI Officials Affected by OTT
